Painting the sketches... (Traced Image revisited)

The entry, from this blog, that has the original sketches and writing to go with them, can be found at http://hermiting.blogspot.com/2005/10/traced-image-random-thoughts.html.

I painted tonight. First I painted "He Touches Our Hearts", in watercolours. She is companion to "Reconciliation", which I painted last May while at TEC.

My other painting is of the dove, rising from the flames. I did this one in acrylics - trying them out for the first time, to see what they're like. I want to paint a specific picture for someone using them.

The Sketch

Burn this shell
that I may rise whole and new.

I like the acrylics, for the effects I can get with them. That fire would not be as good had I attempted to paint it in watercolour. But there are other effects I can only achieve in watercolour, and so I will continue to use them more than I do the acrylics.
