Emmaus

I went to bed last night and did my devotions, which I've let slide for the last week.

The reading: Luke 24:25-31
Luk 24:25 And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
Luk 24:26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?"
Luk 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Luk 24:28 So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He appeared to be going further,
Luk 24:29 but they constrained him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent." So he went in to stay with them.
Luk 24:30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them.
Luk 24:31 And their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished out of their sight.

So in my Devotional Journal I wrote, "The road to Emmaus. How foolish I am, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have declared!"

Part of the devotional from the book: "We have enough faith to get out of Egypt, but not enough to enter the Promised Land. We never claim full possession of the life we have in Christ. We need not live in spiritual poverty. All the riches of heaven are ours in Christ Jesus!"

And I got up this morning and did my other devotional, and it was about how we lash out at others when we're really upset with outselves; the reading there was Titus 2:11-14:
Tts 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared for the salvation of all men,
Tts 2:12 training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world,
Tts 2:13 awaiting our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
Tts 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.

God already took me up on that dare... Oh Joyous Day!
