Wait

Tehillah tonight. You will laugh when you read my sermon notes...

05-02-05
Tehillah
We need to pray for a new revelation of God. (Pastor Steve)

Exodus 3:1-4

  • Moses was deep in the wilderness; in exile.

  • The most powerful refelations take place in the dark place.

Never forget that at any moment, God has the right to break into your darkness & come to you with a "suddenly". Keep working; be alert!

  • When Moses sees it, he goes to check it out, he doesn't just ignore it.

  • Your choice is to ignore what God is saying/doing or to go check it out.

    Move closer to the fire!

That moment of divine curiosity - that is when God speaks to us.

Moses saw, he was curious, he stopped, he was called.

    Romans 12:1

  • If you can see the mercy of God...

  • If you don't have a view of God's mercy & you present yourself as a living sacrifice, it is boring, frustrating, etc.

    SEE IT

A fresh revelation, a fresh view... follow Him because you've seen Him; to see Him is to love Him, and to love Him is to follow Him gladly.

    REVELATION NEEDS TO COME FIRST

Everything will change when we get a revelation.

If you aren't satisfied with Christianity, it's because you don't have a revelation of God.

Purpose, destiny, what we are meant to do with our lives... come out of the revelation.

When you lose sight of God, everything gets blurry. Seek first the Kingdom of God - then everything else will become clear, will make sense.

So Steve got up to say all of this, and it wasn't the message he'd prepared. He said he'd been getting ready for tonight and kept feeling that the message he was working on wasn't the one he was meant to give, but since he didn't have any clue what he was actually meant to say, he just kept working on what he knew.

And then during the opening worship time, he kept getting this niggling that We need to pray for a fresh revelation of God. And this is what happened.

And then he called up all the people who this touched, who responded to it - basically, if the message resonated, come on up and kneel and pray.

What power, what amazing, awesome, phenomenal power.

I cried... I don't cry much, never have. But this was good, cleansing tears.

And when I finally looked up, I saw the one-word banner up on the balcony, and it said,

    wait

so I went back to my seat and picked up my notebook and the following just FLOWED out onto the page:

    WAIT

You are too impatient, too unwilling to pause & wait for My time, too impulsive in your approach to life.
I gifted you with impulsivity and stubbornness, with enhusiasm... maintain this momentum from now until your time has come. It will come. My time is not your time. You know that. Sit tight; all will become clear in My time. I will reveal Myself to you when the timing is right - when you are ready - and not before.
Rest assured, love, that you will see My face soon enough.
You are My Latha, My creeping vine, full of praise, full of grace. You are My warrior. You will prosper... I will prosper you.

    Breathe Me in.

    My timing, not yours.

    WAIT.

    So... interesting, eh?

Gotta e-mail Pastor Steve, I think...
