Cursillo Debrief...

A lot to think about now. Cursillo was a good thing, but difficult in many ways. Especially the second day...

I am going to be looking into the concept of "light" as it pertains to Christianity over the next little while. At one point, we were praying, and this idea came to me about it. I remembered the words from one of the Creeds: "Light from light" - it's talking about Jesus; the whole bit goes, "God from God, light, from light, true God from true God. Begotten, not made. Of one being with the Father." And then I remembered the theme verse of the weekend: "I am the light of the world." (John 8:12) And then I remembered that we are to be lights in the darkness of this world. So I want to look at that theme. Sort of a personal theme for a little while.

When I'm through with that, I'll be studying the concept of "love". What is love, why is love, where is love (that's a song from "Oliver!"), when is love, how is love, who is love (that would be God - at least I know that already!). I want to see if I can figure out why love is so hard to accept sometimes, and why it's sometimes easier to show it to others than it is to believe you're worth receiving it from them.

After that, not sure where I'll head off. But I think those two personal study themes will last me a goodly while... definitely past Christmas. I'll post any revelations here, of course. :)
